From october 27th to 29th 2023 the project LAND.SCHAFFT.SOUND. invited sound enthusiasts to a practical workshop
on the subject of "following landscapes in Upper Lusatia". Opencast mining in Saxony has made the greatest changes
to the earth's surface since the ice age. After the opencast mines were closed in the early 1990, a comprehensive "remediation"
of the landscape took place and is still taking place. The cleared opencast mines, like the mining areas that are still in operation,
are to become leisure landscapes. We want to embark on a sound journey and listen carefully, start a conversation, capture the
atmosphere. Under the heading "follow-up landscapes", the focus should be on producing at the weekend. Whether field recordings,
audio collages or interviews - the participants have the opportunity to get to know different aspects of audio production and to deal
with different approaches.
