From 23–24 October 2026, the LAND.SCHAFFT.SOUND. project invites anyone with an interest in sound to a workshop on the theme of “hydro.sound.26”.
“hydro.sound.26” combines sound art, DIY electronics and experimental field research.
At the heart of the project is the collaborative construction of hydrophones – underwater microphones used to make sounds beneath the water’s surface audible. Under guidance, participants will build their own hydrophone, gaining a basic understanding of acoustics, electronics and sound recording in the process. In the second part of the project, participants embark on acoustic explorations and use their self-built hydrophones and audio recorders to collect field recordings in and around Bad Schandau.
